Bonding
There is something about the language of music,
No precise meaning, open to interpretation.
It asks us to move, it invite us to dream and to remember.
There is something about a child and a parent making music together,
Playing with the sounds and letting their bodies go with the flow.
The bonding, the connection that I witness in class,
When the parent is observing his child, responding to her cues,
In the very same language the little one is exploring at that moment, using the same code.
That musical babbling, that we have learned to gaze and nurture.
That connection brings us closer together with our children, and with other families.
We sit in a circle to sing, dance and laugh, we let the music come through and grow into
A Beautiful, tall and shiny sunflower.
Strong, nurtured and happy.
