Favorite Child-friendly Instruments

  • Basic Beat Jumbo Egg Shaker
    Egg shakers are a favorite in my classes, for all ages!! I recommend you get the biggest size available. Babies will try to fit a whole egg shaker inside their mouths. So if these are too small it can actually be dangerous. I also recommend to buy a good brand, like Basic Beat, since some brands have had to recall theirs because the eggs have split in the middle and let all the really tiny beads out.
  • Baby Band Instrument Package
    A set of shakers that produce different sounds. Babies and toddlers love to shake these to the sound of music!
  • Smallest size Plastic Rainmaker
    This rainmaker is better for a baby. The medium and bigger sizes are not too fat for a baby to grasp but they can be too long and too heavy.
  • Twirly Whirly Rainmaker
    Rainmakers are great fun for children. They love turning them around and observing the beads pass from one side to the other making a pleasant and relaxing sound. Plastic rainmakers are sturdier and safer for young children.
  • Remo Kids Drum
    Remo has made a great selection of different sizes and styles of drums. Made with sturdy materials that last long, are capable of producing a more musical sound than most drums made for children.

Elephant Song Video

I have had so much fun watching and singing to this video with my son. I love the way Eric Herman sings this song. He sings with such a soft and natural quality, and the way his daughter speaks is just so familiar to all of us parents. I also like the simplicity and economy of the video.
